Located in the Mugello valley, often referred to as the green heart of Tuscany, north-east of Florence, Casa la Quercia sits amid a picturesque landscape of wooded hills and open countryside. Named after the impressive 500-year-old oak tree on its grounds, this property offers an idyllic setting for a relaxing holiday in Tuscany, whether with family or friends.

The nearest grocery shop is in the village of Luco Mugello, about 2 km away, where there is also a pizzeria. Further shops and a supermarket can be found in Borgo San Lorenzo (12 km), a charming town known for its historic buildings and narrow lanes. And if you don’t feel like driving, just a five-minute walk from Casa la Quercia takes you to the popular local restaurant La Bottega di Grezzano, perfect for a relaxed dinner out. Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca and San Gimignano all make excellent day trips. The Bilancino Lake, only 25 minutes by car, offers both relaxation and a variety of watersports.

Set in peaceful countryside, the holiday home is built from natural stone, partly rendered and painted a warm shade of yellow. The large garden with lawns and mature trees provides plenty of natural shade. Outside the kitchen there is a dining terrace under a pergola, while in the paved courtyard beside the dining room there is another large table and a comfortable seating area.

Inside, Casa la Quercia features wooden-beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and exposed stone walls that reveal the building’s historic character. The furniture is a tasteful mix of modern and antique pieces, complemented by a modern kitchen and elegant bathrooms. Thoughtfully chosen details create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The beautiful pool, just a few metres from the house, invites guests to relax and unwind.

Please note: there are steep open staircases and some high steps on the ground floor. Guests with young children are asked to take appropriate care.
