Casetta Busecchio

Pescina - Greve in Chianti - Florence and Chianti

6 3 2 Private Pool
Casetta Busecchio is set in the rolling hills of  the Chianti, surrounded by woods and olive groves. It is the perfect place to unwind and escape everyday life. This lovingly restored stone villa offers an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday with family or friends in a peaceful, natural environment.

The nearby village of Lucolena is less than ten minutes away by car and has a restaurant and a well-stocked grocery store. Supermarkets can be found in Figline Valdarno, about twenty minutes away. Greve in Chianti is a similar distance and known for its excellent restaurants. Wine lovers will appreciate the many local wineries offering tastings. Radda, Gaiole and Volpaia are also worth visiting, while Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are ideal destinations for day trips.

The two-storey house is built from natural stone with grey/ green shutters. In front of the house, a large stone terrace with a dining table and sunshade invites guests to eat outdoors, while a smaller table sits under the shade of an old olive tree. On a lower level is a round private pool with a furnished terrace and pergola. The garden, planted with lavender and flowering shrubs, offers more peaceful spots to relax.

Inside, terracotta floors, wooden beam ceilings and whitewashed walls create a warm, bright atmosphere. Colourful prints, cosy furnishings and soft textiles complete the homely feel. The first floor is accessed via external stairs. There is no central heating, but firewood is available free of charge for the wood burner.

This is the second time we have visited this villa - previously in 2023. We returned because is was brilliant first time round and it was again this time. The place is very secluded and quiet with different areas on the gardens to sit in and the sunsets on the terrace are just so relaxing. Even better - the oven and hob had been replaced since our last visit with the hob converted to induction so no issues with gas bottles etc. The access road has also been redone since we went in 2023 so all the issues that some report regarding it being difficult to navigate have gone. The Chianti region is great with so many good places to eat and visit. I can't say more than we will be going again at some point!New for us this time was Arezzo. The old town is just as atmospheric and pretty as Sienna but without all the crowds. Definitely worth a visit.
