Castellare in Chianti is a peaceful estate set in woodland in the heart of the Chianti Classico, designed to resemble a traditional Tuscan stone village. The original buildings date back to the 19th century and were carefully restored from the ground up by the Florentine family who still own the property, creating individual apartments, each with its own furnished terrace. The spacious grounds include inviting communal seating areas and a beautiful shared swimming pool, ideal for relaxing on warm days. Additional facilities include a boccia court, table tennis and table football, while a small playground provides enjoyment for younger guests. The surrounding countryside is well suited to walking and cycling, with marked trails winding through the forest of Monteluco.
The small hamlet of Castagnoli is just five minutes away by car and is home to the excellent restaurant Il Celliere a Castagnoli. Wine lovers can visit nearby wineries such as Cantalici and Rocca di Castagnoli, both offering tastings of their excellent wines. The attractive town of Gaiole lies around eight kilometres away and offers restaurants, shops and a Coop supermarket. Siena, Arezzo and Florence are all within easy reach for memorable day trips.
