Guardia di Badia a Passignano is a lovingly restored villa which is ideal  for couples or small families. Once a guard’s post, it now offers a peaceful and stylish retreat in the heart of Chianti, surrounded by the renowned vineyards of Antinori, one of Italy’s most respected wine producers. Just a short walk away lies the impressive Badia a Passignano, a thousand-year-old abbey with a Last Supper fresco by Domenico Ghirlandaio.

The abbey is only five minutes on foot from the house. Guests can also enjoy excellent nearby restaurants such as Di Vino, offering views over the vineyards and authentic Tuscan cuisine, or the gourmet Osteria di Passignano. A small but well-stocked grocery store is located in Sambuca, while all further amenities, including a COOP supermarket, can be found in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, around fifteen minutes away by car. Florence, Siena and San Gimignano are all within an hour’s drive and perfect for day trips.

The villa is set among olive groves and vineyards and built from local stone. Original features such as guard peep holes have been preserved. Two lateral terraces with covered dining and seating areas invite guests to relax outdoors throughout the season. Next to the heatable pool is a charming and unique grill area for alfresco cooking and dining.

Inside, exposed stone walls, white-painted wooden beams and large windows create a bright and airy atmosphere. The modern minimalist interior offers both comfort and calm for an authentic Tuscan experience.
