Set on the side of a gentle hill, next to a softly flowing stream and surrounded by forest, Mulino del Rigualdo is a peaceful retreat for couples or small families.
The pretty medieval village of Torniella is just 1 km away and offers two restaurants, a few small shops and a bar. The town of Roccastrada is a 10-minute drive and provides supermarkets, further amenities and sweeping views over the Maremma plains. The region is rich in history and nature: Vetulonia, once a major Etruscan settlement, offers a necropolis, excavations and museum (45 minutes away). Nature lovers will enjoy the Maremma Natural Park, a 9,000-hectare coastal reserve with pine forests and hiking trails. The regional capital Grosseto is also worth visiting.
The natural stone house is surrounded by a large, lush garden. A wooden balcony with flower boxes, a shaded seating area, a covered terrace with dining table, a pool, a hot tub and a gazebo with lounge furniture offer plenty of outdoor space to relax.
Inside, the two-storey mill has been carefully restored. Terracotta floors, wooden beam ceilings and large fireplaces create a warm atmosphere. Exposed stone walls contrasting with soft yellow and natural tones add character. The furnishings are traditional Tuscan, lovingly chosen.
