Limonaia at Palazzo a Merse

Sovicille - Siena and Chianti

2 1 1 Shared Pool
Palazzo a Merse is a characterful Tuscan hamlet where history and rural charm come together. The estate consists of an 18th-century farmhouse built around a former mill dating back to the 13th century. Lovingly restored, it has been transformed into a collection of seven stylish holiday accommodations, while the old mill is occasionally used for small events, adding to the property’s authentic atmosphere. Set in the Val di Merse, a region famed for its sweeping sunflower fields, each villa enjoys its own furnished outdoor space. These open directly onto the tree-shaded communal gardens, where an attractive shared swimming pool invites relaxation. A covered terrace is also available, where breakfast can be served on request. Peaceful surroundings and generous outdoor spaces make Palazzo a Merse an ideal retreat for a relaxed holiday close to nature.

The nearest village offering  good amenities is Rosia, around 5 km away, offering a supermarket, bakery, bars and restaurants. Dining options can also be found in nearby villages, with the owners especially recommending Ristorante dal Cateni in Orgia, just a short drive away. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity of Royal Golf La Bagnaia, only 1.5 km from the estate. Beautiful Siena is about 20 minutes away by car, while Florence, Arezzo, San Gimignano, the Chianti, the Val d’Orcia and seaside towns to the south such as Castiglione della Pescaia are all within easy reach for memorable day trips.

Ideal for a quiet Tuscan retreat in the middle of the countryside. Nearby towns with supermarkets and great local restaurants. Margherita was friendly and very helpful during our stay.
