La Torre Vecchia at Vignale

Castelnuovo Berardenga - Siena and Chianti

5 2 2 Shared Pool
Vignale is an idyllic hamlet made up of lovingly restored former farm buildings, which now house six individually owned villas. Each villa has its own private garden with an outdoor dining area, ideal for relaxing, soaking up the sun and enjoying far-reaching views during the day, as well as the spectacular starry skies at night. A shared  pool, set on the edge of the hamlet in a beautiful setting, offers the perfect place for relaxation and refreshment on warm summer days. Set on a hilltop and surrounded by forests and vineyards, Vignale is a perfect retreat for guests seeking peace and nature. The hamlet is reached via a private 600-metre road that winds steeply through the forest before opening out onto wide panoramic views across the Chianti Classico.

Its location in the heart of Chianti Classico makes it ideal for exploring the region. San Sano is just ten minutes away by car, while Lecchi can be reached in under 15 minutes. The lively town of Gaiole in Chianti lies 11 km away, with restaurants, shops and a supermarket, and Radda is also close by. Vignale is a true paradise for walkers and cyclists, with the Dievole Natural Path starting right on the doorstep. This 27 km network of marked trails winds through woodland and vineyards of the Dievole estate, which also offers wine tastings and an excellent restaurant. Siena is around 35 minutes away, with Arezzo, San Gimignano and Florence ideal for day trips.

The first time in Tuscany, I didn't have many expectations. But the landscape stands out as being just as undulating as all the pictures show. A rural idyll. The entire landscape exudes wine culture. The accommodation itself is a bit away from public roads, but there are restaurants and other things almost everywhere. And it was only 30 minutes to the nearby cosy Siena. We spent a lot of time at the accommodation, went swimming and had a great time. Very well-equipped accommodation with outdoor areas, a living room and a pleasant kitchen with a kitchen island. The temperature dropped during the night, but it could have been cooler indoors.

To Tuscany team comments for this review:

Thank you very much for taking the time leave us a lovely review. We are delighted that your first time travelling to Tuscany was an overall wonderful experience and we completely agree on how beautiful the landscapes are, which pictures truly do not do justice. We are also pleased to hear that you had the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and indulge in Tuscan cuisine as well as visiting Siena, a marvellous city indeed. It is great to know that you spent plenty of quality time together swimming in the pool, lounging in the living room or cooking in the kitchen. We hope your first time was very memorable and hope to welcome you to Tuscany again in the future.
