Villa Collombroso

Porano - Orvieto in Umbria

10 5 5 Private Pool
Villa Collombroso is a 400-year-old property in a beautiful rural setting, surrounded by fields and forests. It is perfect for families or groups of friends looking for a relaxing holiday in the heart of nature.

The village of Porano, with a small selection of shops, cafés and restaurants, is just 4 km away. The impressive medieval town of Orvieto can be reached in around 15 minutes and offers all amenities as well as many sights, including the stunning Duomo and the Fortezza Albornoz. Only 18 km away lies Civita di Bagnoregio, the famous “dying village”. Founded by the Etruscans over 2,500 years ago, this picturesque place is only accessible via a pedestrian bridge and is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The volcanic Lake Bolsena, about 20 minutes away, is known for its natural beauty.

The holiday home is built from the volcanic stone typical of the region and is set in a well-tended garden with flowers, fruit trees and a small vegetable garden. Several furnished terraces invite you to relax or enjoy meals outdoors, while the spacious pool provides refreshment on warm summer days.

Spread over three floors, the holiday home has been carefully restored to preserve its historic charm. Inside, terracotta floors, wooden-beamed ceilings and impressive fireplaces create a cosy atmosphere. Comfortable furnishings complete the welcoming interior.

A special highlight: the owner is a chef and offers cooking classes in a separate building, where guests can discover the secrets of authentic Umbrian cuisine.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful Villa. The owner Taira was so kind and helpful. The rooms were typically furnished and the large kitchen, living are was perfect for a family group as we ate in most nights due to babies . The pizza oven, kitchen in a separate are was fantastic too. The pool area was really good with plenty of shade for little ones. Sadly we couldn’t use the pool as it was unheated and too cold. Having so much space made it easy not to feel on top of each other. There is absolutely nothing in Porano and it is necessary to drive to go anywhere to eat. Orvieto was around 15 minute drive, and was beautiful, but extremely busy with many large tour groups. This is a perfect place to spend time if you want to relax with family and friends.2 restaurants we used were the terrace pizza restaurant 5 minute drive from the villa, with wonderful views of the Town and good food. In Orvieto La Palomba was a favourite

To Tuscany team comments for this review:

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're glad the villa’s space, kitchen, and pool area suited your family so well, and that Taira made you feel welcome. While the peaceful location requires driving for meals out, we're happy you enjoyed Orvieto. We'd be delighted to welcome you back again.
