Villa Solata

Solata - Bucine - Arezzo and Cortona

6 3 2 Private Pool
Villa Solata is an impressive manor house set on the edge of a small hamlet, high on a hilltop with sweeping views across the gently rolling landscape of the Val d'Ambra. Surrounded by nature and offering spacious interiors and outdoor areas, it is an ideal retreat for families looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

The charming village of Ambra can be reached in less than twenty minutes by car. Here, guests will find a couple of restaurants, small grocery shops, a pharmacy and an excellent bakery. The small town of Bucine is around nine kilometres away and offers additional amenities, including several supermarkets. The towns and villages of the Chianti region are within easy reach, and Siena, Cortona, Montepulciano and the UNESCO protected Val d’Orcia provide wonderful ideas for memorable day trips.

Villa Solata enjoys a tranquil countryside setting and presents itself as a yellow painted manor house with dark green wooden shutters. At the back, a comfortably furnished balcony terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast while taking in the panoramic views. To the side of the building, a shaded terrace with a dining table invites guests to enjoy meals al fresco. The holiday home is surrounded by extensive gardens with olive groves and orchards. The pool is located on a lower level of the garden and offers welcome refreshment on warm summer days. A loggia in this area provides another lovely place to relax.

Inside, the two-storey villa offers plenty of space and has been furnished with great care, giving it the welcoming atmosphere of a family residence. Antique furniture, chosen to reflect the age and character of the manor house, adds charm and warmth throughout.

The villa itself and surrounding garden are fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. The pool is much bigger than the "standard" 3.5 x 6.5 private pools that we usually find. The access road is manageable, but preferrably by daylight. Eventually the villa and pool became the main attraction for us, and we refrained from extended day trips. Villa Solata definitely gets on our shortlist for one of our next Tuscany vacations.
